Patience + Rest=Trust

Patience, a concept I continue to work through. I know I am not alone though. How do you react when life gets rocky? When plans aren’t going as you so desired? If you’re like me, you plan ahead. You manifest the future you desire. Perhaps when the problems of life knock you down, you may get back up and hit the ground running. But what does God truly want of us in that space of time?

Recently, I experienced this same test. I share with you today, when I took a moment to digest the disappointment, rest, and pray, God intervened and once again superseded my expectations. Upon navigating it, I was reminded that I can’t trust n worry at the same time. If I can be honest, it’s a lesson I am still learning. I've had to learn the hard way like most, I'm from Missouri aka "The Show Me" state. I can't say I trust God completely if I'm worrying and the situations, I'm experiencing are keeping me up at night. Onward, it’s getting to know God more and allowing him to take over the situation. It’s what us Christian believers call Faith. Faith is knowing God is already working it out.

As I dive into this subject a bit more, I want to present such findings to you that appeared to me in my most recent experience. In a season of rest, patience may be required. Rest equates to trust. The word “rest” implies relaxing in peace; it also implies people’s mourning for loss loved ones. In the Bible, the word “rest” appears over two hundred times. Rest according to Webster's Dictionary is "A state of quiet or repose; a cessation from motion or labor; tranquility; as, rest from mental exertion; rest of body or mind."

Matthew 11:28 tell us "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."If we lay all burdens down at his feet, we give it to God, and wash our hands of it.

And now for Trust, a main factor aligning with Patience and Rest. In both, we are in a waiting period. A period of unknowns, a period of mellow mushroom as I like to call it. The what do i do now season-while God is doing his work-where is my mind?? Who am I seeking out?? What am I looking to do next?? How am I best utilizing my time??

You may be waiting on God to move on your behalf in the midst of what feels like a storm. We are to trust and remain calm that God is working the circumstances out for your good. Romans 8:28

God can change policies and procedures and win battles that we ourselves, do not have to physically fight. We have to fight in the spiritual. If God says it’s so and deems it to happen, then it will indeed happen. In the midst of the uncertainty, trusting His abilities can be tough. In those moments we rest and be assured Gods got you covered.

Thank you to my loved ones in my village that have poured into me when I begin to get down on myself. When life takes an unexpected turn encourage yourself and the strong soldiers who surround you. They too, need to be poured into from time to time as well.

God Bless! Know God is willing and able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think! Ephesians 3:20

Believe it! Receive it! Think it, Be it!
